Day in the Life:
DWAYNE JOHNSON
The Rock, whose muscles have muscles.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a little too big for his Ferrari LaFerrari!

Today, The Rock’s herculean physique has made him the most sought-after and admired action star in Hollywood. While the 47-year-old demands eight figures to be featured in films like “Baywatch”, “Skyscraper” and “Jumanji”, his Emmy nominated series, Ballers, earns him an estimated of $650,000 per episode. There are 4 seasons with 10 episodes each for TV series. Do the math and you’ll realize that Rock has earned enough money to buy every single ticket for Coldplay’s Heed Full of Dreams concert in Auckland. Without doubt, that would be one awkward concert for Chris Martin!
And that is only the beginning.
Johnson has been given the title for the sexiest man alive, has 3 movies coming out in 2019, has 5 Guinness world records, and has won Kid’s, Teen’s and People’s choice award (if there was an Old People’s choice award, undoubtedly, he would win that too!).
Adding to his prized possessions, is his Instagram page, @therock, which is inspiring, hilarious and equally repetitive. Gym, healthy meal, gym, make fun of vertically challenged Kevin Hart, movie set, throwback, movie set, cheat meal, gym. Whether it is his well known work ethic or an actual vibe, The Rock’s Instagram page feels disciplined. No surprises there, just a lot of motivational and relatable captions for all of his 137 million followers.

Everybody wants to be like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Surprisingly, the secret to The Rock’s success is actually quite simple: He lifts heavy, hard, and often. For years, Dwayne Johnson has worked diligently and consistently on achieving the sort of body that your significant other wish you had.
“Success isn’t always about ‘Greatness’, it’s about consistency. Consistent, hard work gains success. Greatness will come.”
I peaked into the 260-lbs muscle-man’s life and here are 3 rituals that make him one of the most successful Hollywood actors:
1. Wake up before the birds!
It is barely 4 a.m. Even the sun has not risen over the luxurious Landmark Ranch Estates, Florida. The majority of residents living in this gated-posh community – including NFL cornerback Asante Samuel and New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall – are in their multimillion-dollar homes, still tucked up in bed trying to catch a few more valuable hours of sleep. While most in the area aren’t even close to getting up yet, including the friendly neighborhood cock-a-doodle-doo rooster, Hollywood superstar has been awake for at least 30 minutes, stretching his huge muscles and putting on gym clothes in preparation for his morning ritual.
Then, the 6’5” starts to pound the gray, gravelly sidewalks, running past tall palm trees. Music blares from his headphones. Later, in his Iron Paradise (Rock’s 40,000-lbs private gym), Johnson sits on a flat bench with two 100-pound dumbbells on either side of him.
Some may call him crazy, but he’ll be the first to tell you that it’s this sort of dedication to staying in shape that has made him one of the world’s most sought-after action stars. Surely, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson knows what it takes to make it to the top.
2. No Sleep Monday and Tues…………and Sunday!
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is so productive that it seems like he doesn’t sleep.
As it turns out, he doesn’t. It is reported that he gets just three to five hours of sleep per night. He often sacrifices two hours of sleep just so he can have the quiet two hours that he needs before the whole house wakes up, including the animals.
As you know it, The Rock has a lot to do these days. In addition to starring in Jumanji’s sequel, he’s a lead actor in the “Hobbs & Shaw”. He has a baby, spends time to motivate his kids, inspires people and does promotions all day on social media, and enjoys the simpler and finer things in life. I surprised that he can even even sleep for 3-5 hours!
Now I am not hinting on loosing your daily beauty sleep but cutting your quotidian doze by just 30+ minutes might do wonders.
3. If you’ve lost your appetite today, I think The Rock has it.
To maintain his physique, The Rock eats around 5,000 calories every day. He eats about 10 pounds of food a day. His calories, spread over seven meals, include almost 2.4 pounds of cod, a fish particularly rich in protein. The rest includes of his diet includes
- 5.5 cups of white rice
- 12 egg whites a day + 3 whole eggs (I don’t even eat this much in a week!)
- 20 ounces of Steak
- 6 cups of Broccoli
- 16 Asparagus tips
I would love to continue with the list but I happen to just lose my hunger.
The Rock will always be the first to tell you that lifting heavy and hard is only half the battle when building muscle. You’ve also got to put the right foods inside your body (Please don’t eat 12 eggs now!)

All in all, I have just told you the three daily wellness habits that make Dwayne Johnson, The Rock. I am not suggesting that you give up on your sleep, try lifting 100-lbs tomorrow at the gym or stuff your body with 5000 carbs! Just be consistent in what you do. Examine where you fall short. And maybe one day, you will amaze your social media community by posting a photo of your gains and your cheat meal.
